Thinking of You

I used to love to go to card shops and browse. I'd spend hours looking for just the right message. I don't have the time anymore and get discouraged after awhile when I can't find the right card. For that reason I've decided to make my own. After you buy a few supplies, it takes less time that buying one and it sure is cheaper.

Get a piece of #6 plastic which is found on most take out containers. I found this one at my grocery store in the aluminum pan section. You'll know it is a #6 (the only kind that works) because there is a tiny triangle in a corner with the number six inside.

Sand the plastic and place it over your printed paper.

 Use a fine black Sharpie to trace the message onto the sanded plastic. Cut out with a sharp pair of scissors.

 Place on a flat tray and pop in a hot toaster oven for about 30 seconds. The plastic will curl up and shrink. You know it is done when it uncurls and is flat again. Take it out and put something flat on top for good measure. You can see how much it shrinks.

Glue your bubble onto a card blank with a clear drying glue such as Goop and add a message inside. 

This is a perfect card for almost all occasions.
