Here's a quick, free and very practical craft.
Materials
empty plastic milk jug
ribbon
Tools
scissors
large circle punch
small hole punch
fine line sharpie permanent marker
Cut apart an empty plastic milk jug. Punch large circles out of the flat parts of the jug. With the small hole punch, make four holes in the circle. One should be at the top and close to the edge. One should be at the bottom and about 1/4" in from the edge. The last two should be at the east and west points, also 1/4" in from the edge. Insert the scissors into the bottom hole and cut to one of the side holes, following the curve of the circle. Repeat on the other side.
Write "I fell asleep here" or other pithy saying with a marker.
Thread a ribbon through the top hole; make a knot and trim the ends.
Use this to mark your place and since you can make tons of these for free, you can mark a place in every book in your house. Provided, of course, you drink lots of milk.
