I found this great hunk of wood at a local saw mill. The "live edge" is so trendy now. I knew it would make an interesting serving tray for bread or cheese but I wanted more. I had seen a fun tic tac toe game at a high end boutique that was way out of my price range. Could I have both a serving tray and a game board?
I bought nine 1 1/4" washers and a drill bit with the same diameter. You will need the washers with medium sized holes so that the marbles will not roll off your board. Arrange the washers in a grid pattern. I'm sure it's best to measure, but I'm a kind of an "eyeball it" type of girl. Mark the centers and drill shallow holes just so that the washers will be flush with the top.
I filled the smaller center drill holes in the middle with paintable caulk and painted the indentations black before I glued the washers in place with Goop.
