If you are a devotee of Photoshop you probably have come across Bert Monroy. He's a professor at San Francisco State University who makes photorealistic art using PS. He's amazing! I found a video tutorial of his here and decided to try it. Rather than constantly refer to his video, I decided to write it out. Double click on each picture to enlarge it if you need to.
Add a new blank layer above the beige one. Select the pattern tool (which is bundled with the clone stamp)in the tool box. In the options bar (at the top of the screen) select the pattern you made of the whole portrait.
Using the smudge tool, draw out the edges of your drawing to feather the edges and make it seem to be a drawing.
Here is the finished picture. Have fun with yours.
