small styrofoam egg
black seed beads
needle nose pliers
Cut a 12" piece of rebar wire. Bend it into a squared U shape. Clip the ends so that they are even. Make two small loops at the ends.
Cut another piece of rebar wire, this time 3 inches. Loop it over the bottom of the U. Grab both ends of the 3" piece with pliers and wrap severalmore times, pulling tightly. Leave one inch ends. If the wraps are too loose, crimp with pliers.
Place the fat end of the egg on the point of a wooden skewer while you paint the body a bright color. Thread seed beads onto straight pins and push the pins into the head of the egg. Snip ends off the pins if necessary. Glue the pointed end of a skewer for a beak.
