Chalkboard Bunny

I bought this plaque at a tag sale. I think it was a planter in its previous life. You can download a pattern here and here and here. Tape the three patterns together and place on a piece of MDF. Cut the two pieces, then glue and attach the shelf with screws from the back.

bunny plaque
stain blocker spray paint
chalkboard spray paint
small cup

Spray a stain blocker paint (Bin is one brand) onto the plaque. This is a good primer that also blocks any knots or other imperfections from showing through your finished surface.
Spray with chalkboard spray paint. Allow to dry and place a small cup in the hole on the shelf. Fill the cup with chalk and embellish your bunny.
