Drum roll, please. This is my most requested recipe. I keep it on my desktop to email it to anyone who requests it. This is a must for Turkey Day, but goes well with ham or roast chicken - in fact almost anything. If you have a food processor, it's fast too.
Puree the sweet potatoes (I use canned), eggs, sugar, butter, milk, bourbon and salt in the processor, then pour into an oven proof dish. Smooth the top. Place the last ingredients in the processor (clean out all the left over potato stuff) and pulse until you have a crumbly mixture. Sprinkle the crumbs evenly on top of the sweet potatoes. Hopefully you have saved 13 or so pecan halves to decorate the top. I put one in the middle and place the rest like the numbers on a clock.
Cook in a 350˚ oven for 1 hour.
I've served up to 12 people with this recipe, but that's at Thanksgiving when there are tons of other side
dishes. Eight servings might be more like it for a regular dinner.

Once you eat this, sweet potatoes with marshmallows will be banished to the children's table forever.

This sounds wonderful! I'd eat that for dessert! Is this your own recipe?
Oh- I am so gonna make this! Thanks for the recipe. It did post a bit funny on your blog though. Hugs--Diana
This is not my own recipe. I just happen to have friends who are great cooks. This recipe comes from Mimi Marum. It may be from her french mother. (No wonder it is good) I've lost track of Mimi so if any of you know her, say hi from me.
I used to make sweet potatoes with bourbon and cream cheese. It has been many years since I hosted Thanksgiving, but am sending your recipe to my daughter with a big HINT, HINT. I also had the exact same baking dish. Truly odd, that things like that can be lost.
Well, dear one, you can bet your bottom dollar that I will be serving this with our Thanksgiving ham. It sounds absolutely delicious. I love that I can make it the day before and pop it in the over an hour before everyone gets here. Thanks so so much for the recipe.

I have this recipe sans bourbon, however, I've heard the bourbon addition is great.
Oh that sounds good! Though I have to admit - with marshmallows sounds good too! :)

Oh my gosh, this sounds amazing! I love the grown-up spin on a traditional dish. :)
My MIL gave me a similar recipe, but her's doesn't have bourbon in it. Alcohol makes everything better, right?
That sounds wonderful, but I think I can make it without the bourbon and it should taste scrumpdilleeicious still!
Hugs, Cindy
This sounds so good! I bet this could be adapted for a dessert recipe, too (okay, I'm reaching a bit...it's just that I'm in charge of dessert this year and I want to try this recipe!)
