It is the bag!
I was the recipient of a bunch of scraps of beautiful fabrics that ate a creative hole in my pocket. What to do? Then I discovered that with some very simple straight seams I could make a reversible drawstring bag.
Cut two pieces of fabric the same size. With right sides together, sew a seam and press open. (don't be confused, my plaid fabric is the same on both sides - I did place right sides together)
Now fold the fabrics in half longwise and sew the short ends and along the sides, stopping about 3/4" before the first seam. (see below) This is where you will turn the bag inside out and make the channel for the drawstring. Clip the four corners.
Turn the bag inside out through the little opening and carefully use your scissors or other pointed blunt object to push out the corners.
Invert one side of the tube inside the other to form the bag. Fold the raw edges of the opening inside itself and sew a half inch channel around the opening. Attach a cord or thin ribbon to a safety pin and thread it inside the channel. Inch it along until the pin comes out the other side. Remove the pin and trim the ends of the ribbon.
In less than 20 minutes (I'm a slow sewer) you will have a double sided bag, perfect for your unmentionables or even those things you wish to mention.
