Keep Calm and Party on

"Keep Calm and Carry On was a poster produced by the British government in 1939 during the beginning of World War II, to raise the morale of the British public in the case of invasion. It was little known and never used. The poster was rediscovered in 2000 and has been re-issued by a number of private sector companies, and used as the decorative theme for a range of other products." (wikipedia)

Since the discovery and subsequent marketing of this poster, people have done many variations on the theme; "Keep Calm then Freak Out", "Keep Calm and Eat Cupcakes" are just a few. I decided to make my own homage to this sentiment. Download cards here. There are 4 to an 81/2" x 11" paper.

Print onto white card stock with a borderless print command, then cut out each individual mini poster.  Be sure to leave the small off-white border in tact.

Although I don't sew clothes, I love stitching on paper. Go figure. Just to be safe, I used doublestick tape to secure the posters onto blank greeting cards then sewed around the edges. I left a thread tail for fun. Since I thought that the card recipient might want to remove the poster and perhaps frame it (the blue card), I made small diagonal cuts on the blank card front and slipped the corners into the slots. FYI, if you do this, cut the bottom diagonals first, slip in the card and then measure for the top cuts. On my first try, I cut all the diagonals first but they were too far apart to work. (must be a math thing)

I originally made these for birthday cards but then it occurred to me that these would be perfect for just about any occasion.
