I've been a very bad girl. I can't help myself. I love paper punches and have bought way too many of them. Is there a 12 step program for punch buyers? Okay now missy, you better do something with them.
How about a wreath made from an old book?
Materials
old book
waxed paper
white floral wires
Mod Podge (matte)
white glue
Tools
various punches
paint brush
wooden skewer
These are some of my culprits (they made me buy them). Use whatever punches you may have or if you don't suffer from the same affliction, cut shapes out with scissors (hey, what a novel idea!).
Cut the margins off of about 8 book pages.Since most old books have paper made from wood pulp, you need to stop the disintegration process so coat both sides with matte Mod Podge. I do this over a sheet of waxed paper.
Punch out your various shapes.
Punch out your various shapes.
Make a leaf by punching out a circle shape (in this case, a scalloped one). Place the circle back into the punch - half way. Punch again and you'll have a perfect leaf shape. Fold in half.
Roll, fold or curl the punched shapes for dimension and layer them on top of each other. Encircle a few stems of white floral wire. Place the circle on waxed paper and glue the various shapes to your circle.
I made little spit balls which I glued to the center of the flower shapes and curled thin strips around wooden skewers to make tendrils. I love the delicate look and hang it "as is" on my wall. It would look lovely in a shadow box frame.
Reading material on your wall - how unique!

Fantastic idea. Can you believe I dont have any punches. Maybe I need one.
Brilliant!
I use My paper punches to cut shapes and dip them in resin for jewelry.
Or encase the "negative" in between two pieces of glass for a pendant.
i totally have an addiction to these too!
but i love your ideas :)
I don't have any punches, either, but this is so cute, I may need to get some!
Wow....great idea and I absolutely adore the face that you did not use paper with color! This is so classy. I have not yet become a punchaholic (haha) but projects like these make me want to go out and PUNCH something :+) Thanks so much. I check your site every day.
I have the same syndrome, I cant help it. If I see one I must have it, lucky we dont have that many to choose from in Sweden.
They say if you have more than three of anything you are a collector. So that means I am a collector of punches, designpaper, beads, glitterglue, stamps, stencils, and much more craft items, its must be a disease.
Have a nice day =)
You can never have too many punches!! I wish i had a good punch collection...i'm still busy working on mine, hehe. Cute little wreath! :)
